Reporting to the Head of Contracts and Commercial, the Contracts Manager will utilize their experience to assist with the commercial aspects of major contracts that HITHIUM is pursuing in the utility scale energy storage sector. This role is accountable for developing and obtaining approval for contract strategies, supporting business development and procurement process, as well as managing the administration of executed contracts, including change management, contract compliance, dispute resolution and contract audit processes. The person in this role will engage and work closely with internal and external legal counsels, sales, procurement and executive management.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Developing strategies and ultimately contracts to support business development activities
• Reviewing and negotiating equipment supply and long terms service contracts with customers and providing guidance and support to the sales group regarding the contract terms
• Understand client and sales team expectations and balance these with the corporate objectives and risk tolerance.
• Oversee the vendor relationships in the context of compliance requirements.
• Develop and implement contract management strategies within the department. Work to execute the strategy and integrate with department and client groups to ensure process and compliance expectations are met.
• Ensure consistent delivery of services through the creation, monitoring and enforcement of contracts and contractual performance objectives.
• Ensure departmental alignment with the company’s goals and objectives with clear accountabilities and responsibilities.
• Promote use of leading practices in development of contract strategies and contract administration

EDUCATION:

• University degree; Engineering, Law, Science or Business

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a flexible hybrid office environment.
• Significant experience working with commercial contracts preferably supporting infrastructure construction, EPC or energy organizations.
• Experience developing strategy to support business development activities
• Experience working in a Law firm or as in-house counsel is an asset.
• Experience in contract negotiation, vendor management and dispute management.
• Demonstrated analytical and creative thinking skills to examine, build and negotiate contracting strategies.
• Strong problem-solving skills to address and overcome current and future challenges.
• Exceptional project management and organizational skills to execute time sensitive deliverables.
• A results-oriented focus is essential, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment and effectively manage multiple deliverables and priorities simultaneously.
• People and team oriented with a strong ability to establish an excellent level of confidence, credibility and cooperation with HITHIUM’s internal and external stakeholders.
• Fluency in Mandarin preferred
• Ability to communicate well, both verbally and written.
• Ability to present information clearly and effectively.
